Certain traffic changes are to be carried out in one of the largest and the most popular shopping venues, T Nagar in Chennai with the fast-approaching important festival of Deepavali and the shopping crowd!
In a notification released by the Chennai Traffic Police Department in this regard, it is mentioned:
"There are prospects, as usual, for a large number of buyers to visit the T Nagar area for shopping for the occasion – New Clothes, sweets, crackers, etc. - of Deepavali!
As such, considering the convenience of the public, and to streamline the traffic, there are certain traffic changes proposed to be carried out in T Nagar from 20th October 2022 to 24th October 2022.
As such, autos taking the route of T Nagar Road, Thanikachalam Road, Rohini Signal, North Usman Road, Coats Road, Brindavan and Kannammapettai junction to Panagal Park are BLOCKED!
Vehicles carrying freight and commercial interests WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER T NAGAR. THESE VEHICLES WILL BE ALLOWED ONLY BETWEEN 11.00 PM TO 7.00 AM.
The multi-storeyed parking facilities in T Nagar Road, G N Chetty Road, and Thanikachalam Road and the Corporation School, Ramakrishna Higher Secondary School in Bhashyam Road, and the Ramakrishna Higher Secondary School in Dandapani Road may be used for vehicle parking on holidays and festival days!"
