It has been raining off and on now with little sunshine in between in Chennai but the residents have been facing issues in many places. In this situation, Mr. Senthamarai Kannan, director of Meteorological Center in Chennai spoke to reporters.
According to him, on 16th November that is tomorrow a low pressure area or LPA would be formed over the south-east Bay of Bengal. He added that there would be light rains with lightning and thunder in some places in Puducherry and in TN on 15th November and in one or 2 places in these places on 16th, 17th and 18th November. Information collected is that there would be less chance of widespread heavy rains just like the previous days. The skies in Chennai and its suburbs would be partly cloudy. In some localities in Chennai, there would be moderate rains with lightning and thunder.
Highest rainfall recorded in Uthukottai:
Uthukottai near Chennai belonging to the district of Tiruvallur recorded the highest rainfall of 9cm in the last 24 hours till 8:30 am on 14th November. Valinokkam in Ramanathapuram district recorded 7cm of rain.
It is important to mention that in Vedaranyam belonging to Nagapattinam district and Sholavaram belonging to Tiruvallur district recorded 5cm of rain.
