For the next 2 days, the weathermen have predicted moderate intensity rainfall in some core places in chennai and in the suburbs. It is believed that the slow moving weather system over the Bay of Bengal would still have a chance to bring rains in the city and its suburbs.
Multiple global weather models show different paths to the system nearing the coast and this was as per some weather bloggers. On Wednesday morning, Chennai would receive rains due to the system.
It was revealed by a bulletin from IMD that on Tuesday evening the well marked low pressure area or LPA over west central and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal off south AP-north TN coast weakened into LPA over west central and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal off South AP-north TN coasts.
It has mentioned that the associated cyclonic circulation has extended up to 4.5km above the mean sea level. In this situation, there would be moderate rains in some places in Chennai and in the suburbs for the next 2 days. The maximum and minimum temperatures would be likely 26 degrees celsius to 27 degrees celsius and 22 degrees celsius and 23 degrees celsius respectively.
Weather blogger Mr. Pradeep John stated that Chennai and its suburbs might receive rains on Wednesday morning. He added that till 5th December the weather might be dry. There might also be a few spells of rain due to the easterlies.
On 24th November, a mild LPA might develop over the Bay of Bengal and this was as per Skymet weather prediction. It added that the impact of this system would be limited to Bay Islands and eastern coast would be spared. There might be a spike in the weather activity in Myanmar and its islands in Bay of Bengal. Point is that no major threat would be there in these places.
