Flight Services resumed between Chennai and Yaazhppaanam!

Flights from India to Sri Lanka resumed today (12th December)!

The first flight is operated from Chennai to Yaazhppaanam.

As such, flight services are being resumed from Chennai to Yaazhppaanam.

This has been resumed after a rather long gap of 3 years! During these 3 years, Sri Lanka cancelled these flight services due to the raging coronavirus pandemic!

The airport authorities confirmed that today morning (Monday, 12th December), the first flight of Alliance Air Service flew from Chennai and reached Yaazhppaanam by 11.25 AM!

Only 14 specific selected passengers were aboard the flight!

An event celebrating the resumption of the flight was organized The flight took off from Yaazhppaanam again at as soon as the flight landed in Yaazhppaanam. is scheduled to take off at 2.50 PM and reach Chennai.

It is planned to resume the above flight services 4 days a week.

It is informed that Sri Lanka is in the process of recovering from an intense economic crisis, this resumption of flight may earn some revenue! It may be noted that the Department of Tourism of Sri Lanka is one of the major revenue-earning resources!

When the coronavirus pandemic was onset in the year 2020, the Department of Tourism of Sri Lanka buckled completely! As such, the country cancelled several other flights as well! So, the raging coronavirus pandemic is one of the major reasons for Sri Lanka`s severely acute present economic crisis!

Given the above scenario, the Department of Tourism of Sri Lanka has improved in performance over the last few months. Subsequently, it has been decided to increase the flight services!
