Starting from today 15th December 2022, the Chennai International Film Festival or CIFF will be held in Chennai till 22nd December.
In this film festival, best films from many languages across the globe would be screened. It must be noted that since 2003 onwards, CIFF has been making its presence felt in a huge way in Chennai.
This film festival is being organised by the Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation. About 30 films in Tamil language have applied in the competition for Tamil films category and of those 12 films have been selected and these would be screened in the film festival soon.
These 12 films are Aadhaar, Night Shadow, Final Page, Maamanithan, Kargi, Kasadathapara, Natchathiram Nagargiradhu, O2 , Beginning, Code, Baboon and Yudha Kaantam etc. It is important to mention that a total of 9 awards including `Amitabh Bachchan Youth Icon` awards would be given to the person who excels in the film industry.
Other 8 awards would be given for categories like Best Film, Best Second Film, Jury Special Award, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Cinematographer, Best Film Editor and Best Sound Recorder etc. The chief guest for this upcoming international film festival would be TN minister for information and publicity Mr. Swaminathan.
