Vijay to go on a hunger strike

Thalaivaa is a film which has Vijay, Amala Paul and Sathyaraj in the cast. This film which has been directed by A L Vijay was released worldwide except Tamil Nadu on 9th of this month. The film could not be released because some organizations had sternly warned the theatres not screen this film.
Since there is a lot of uncertainty in the release of Ilayathalapathy Vijay`s Thalaivaa, despite making several attempts for the release, the actor has now gone on a hunger strike.
The Thalaivaa team that includes the actor, director Vijay and producer S Chandraprakash Jain have been relentlessly pushing for the film`s release but unfortunately, nothing has materialized so far. The government has declared that it has nothing to do with the issue. Theater owners have asked for protection on the day of release.
It is expected that Vijay along with the technicians and actors will participate in the hunger strike. They have already sought the permission from the Police Commissioner.
