A private pilgrimage train visiting the temples in Andhra Pradesh is scheduled to start on 26th January 2023 from Coimbatore.

The Central Government has been undertaking various initiatives to develop the field of tourism in India and one of the projects is known as `Bharath Gaurav`.

As per this, private groups and organizations can organize pilgrimages for citizens using the Indian Railways trains.

In this venture, the country`s first private pilgrimage train started only from Coimbatore. The train, named `South Star`, started from Coimbatore to Shirdi last July!

A good number of passengers travelled on this train! This train travelled to Shirdi 5 times!

With this background, the train South Star is all set to take passengers again for a pilgrimage! Starting from Coimbatore, it will visit the temples in Andhra Pradesh – Simhachalam, Arasavalli, Srikoormam, Annavaram, and Pruthika Devi.

The train has a schedule of 7 days. It will return to Coimbatore on 1st February.

The Vice-President of MNC, Padmanabhan has informed that a fee of Rs. 15500/- has been fixed for this pilgrimage and the food and lodging, etc., will be organized by the South Start Train Administration!

He further informed me that the train South Star is scheduled to stop at Karur, Erode, Dindigul, Trichy, Virudhachalam, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, and Chennai!
