CM orders water release from Bhavani dam

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today ordered release of water from the Bhavanisagar dam on 23 August following request from farmers in Erode district. The Chief Minister said that the decision had been taken keeping in mind the appeals and requirements of the farming community in the district. She said around 1,03, 500 acres of farm land in Erode, Tiruppur and Karur districts would be benefitted as a result of the move to release water from the dam.
