After finding a suitable place, a book park would be set up in Chennai. This was as per the chief minister Mr. MK. Stalin. Some years back, the former CM of Tamil Nadu Mr. M. Karunandhi had announced that a book park would be set up permanently in Chennai.
The 46th book fair was inaugurated at the YMCA Grounds in Nandanam in Chennai by the chief minister Mr. MK. Stalin. He spoke about how the TN govt has allotted Rs 5.5 crores to conduct a book fair in every district belonging to Tamil Nadu. This would lead to renaissance of literature as well as knowledge. The chief minister urged various writers to use their writing to save the language.
It must be noted that when the language perishes the race also perishes and finally the culture and identity perishes. Mr. Stalin mentioned that by losing the identity we would not be qualified to be called Tamilans. Just like how the political parties take effort in preserving the language, the writers must also protect the language. It is noteworthy that the chief minister distributed Kalaignar Karunanidhi porkizhi Award to 5 writers including poet Devadevan and translator Mohan.
