The State Government of Tamil Nadu has planned to organize special buses from Chennai Metro City for the public planning to celebrate Pongal Festival at their native places from 6 terminals to various districts, These buses will operate from 12th to 14th of January and for the return trip from different places from 18th to 18th January.
For this, the special buses will start from 6 different terminals in Chennai Metro City!
- From Madhavaram New Bus Terminus, all buses to Andhra will proceed via Red Hills, Ponneri, Gummidippundi, and Oothukkottai.
- From Tambaram MEPZ Anna Bus Terminus, buses to Tindivanam, Vikravandi, Panruti, Kumbakonam, and Thanjavur will proceed via GST Road.
- From K K Nagar Bus Terminus, buses to Pondicherry, Cuddalore, and Chidambaram will proceed via Kathipara flyover. S V Patel Road, and East Coast Road.
- From the Bus Terminus at Tambaram Railway Station, buses will proceed via Tindivanam, Thiruvannamalai, Polur, Vandavasi, Neyveli, Senji, Panruti, Vadalur, Chidambaram and Kattumannarkoil via GST Road.
- From the Poonamallee Bus terminus, buses will proceed to Vellore, Aarani, Arcot, Thirupathur, Kanchipuram, Cheyyaru, Hosur, Thiruthani, and Tirupathi.
- From Koyambedu Bus Terminus (CMBT), buses will proceed to Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Trichy, Sengottai, Thoothukkudi, Thirucehndur, Madurai, Thirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Villupuram, Kallakkurichi, Karaikkudi, Pudhukkottai, Ariyalur, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, and Tirupur, Buses will proceed to Pollachi, Erode, Ramanathapuram, Salem, Coimbatore and Bangalore.
