Latest important activity carried out by CMRL?

Yesterday, 10th January 2023, inspection took place by CMRL officials regarding 26 train set manufacturing for corridor 4 of metro phase2 construction in Chennai.
It must be recalled that for the proposed train sets CMRL in November 2022 awarded the contract to M/s Alstom Transport India Ltd located in Tada. Twenty six train sets of 3 car configurations at a cost of Rs 946 crores would have to be supplied by the firm. For the metro phase 1 too, this firm constructed metro trains.
It is worthy to note that the newly ordered metro trains sets would have upgraded features along with driverless operation at grade of automation 4. On Tuesday, important people who inspected the facility were Mr. MA. Siddique MD of CMRL, Mr. Rajesh Chaturvedi director of systems and operations, Mr. AR. Rajendiran, CGM(Rolling stock) etc. It must be taken into account that MD urged early delivery of train sets for phase-2.
