Ration shops open tomorrow (13th January) – Pongal gift Packs will be distributed!

As tomorrow (Friday, 13th January) has been declared a Working Day for the ration Shop staff, the family ration card (rice) holders can visit the reaction shops and get their Pongal Special Gift Pack!
Usually, the first and second Fridays of the month is a holiday for the ration shops. Instead, the shops are open on the subsequent Sundays for the ration card holders to visit on their weekend and purchase ration card items!
On the special Occasion of the Pongal Festival, all the (rice) family ration holders are given a Pongal Festival Special Gift Pack containing Rs. 100/- in cash, 1 kg raw rice, 1 kg sugar, and one stem of sugarcane!
This gift pack is being distributed from the 9th of January onwards.
A deadline (Thursday, 12th January) has been given for getting the Pongal Festival special Gift Pack!
Those who had not received the Pongal Special Gift Pack, can visit the respective ration shops and get the same!
Is not permitted a large crowd to enter the shop the purchase/receive the Pongal Special Gift Pack – To [prevent this, the State Government of Tamil Nadu arranged the distribution of tokens house-to-house which indicate the date and time receiving the Pongal Festival Special Gift Pack!
It is gathered that the ration shop extends to ask the ration card holders coming at the wrong time to go back and as per the date & time given in the token!
As such, the Department of Food of the State Government of Tamil Nadu has emphasized to the ration shop staff not to ask the buying citizen to return but entertain them by giving the gift pack as well as other items bought, even though some of the citizens might have failed in the time & date as per the token,
