Even years after the funds have been allocated to the south Chennai locality Keerapakkam, the roads have been in poor condition only here. This has made the residents unhappy.
The residents were surprised that instead of repairing the roads the officers have been spraying water on the roads to prevent dust from causing issues to the public. It is known that the Keerapakkam village panchaye is present near Guduvanchery.
The main road here has been damaged and Rs one crore has been allotted for the road restoration works. It must be noted that the road comes under the Kattankulathur panchayat union. Despite the allocation of funds, the road renovation work has been delayed here and now water is being poured on the road to prevent dust particles from creating issues to the motorists.
Many lorries use the road every day and these lorries carry a load of more than 90 tonnes. This was mentioned by some residents here. It is learnt that several complaints were given regarding repairing of the road etc but till now no action has been taken. The repeated pleas from the residents have not been taken seriously by the officials. It was later mentioned by an official that the old estimated cost was not enough.
