The most prestigious National Law School has been established at Srirangam Tiruchirapalli district. It is located in a 25 acre campus in the Tiruchirapalli-Dindigul NH 45, at Navalurkuttappattu. The law school is a residential university established with the initial contribution of Rs 100 Crore from the government of Tamilnadu. The foundation stone was laid by Jayalalithaa on 13 February 2012. The school is the first national level institution in Tamilnadu to disseminate learning and knowledge of law, legal processes, advocacy and skill in judicial administration keeping pace with the changing global scenario and to meet the challenges brought about by globalization.
Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa will inaugurate the Tamilnadu National Law School at Srirangam, through video-conferencing from here, tomorrow in the presence of Acting Chief Justice of Madras High Court Rajesh Kumar Agrawal, who is also the Chancellor of the school.Tamilnadu Law department Secretary Dr G Jayachandran, vice-chancellor of the institution N Murugavel and Chief Secretary Sheela Balakrishnan and others would take part.
