On behalf of the Pollution Control Board or PCB, new air quality monitoring stations would be set up in as manya s in 25 cities belonging to Tamil Nadu. Point is that It would cost Rs 50 crores.
The increase in the populations has been leading to air pollution now. This air pollution is due to the fact that there are now more vehicles used, many construction works going on plus reduction in the green space etc. It is now said that air pollution has been bringing down the longevity of a person.
In districts in TN with huge populations and with many industries, TNPCB has set up 34 air quality monitoring stations is well known to us. These stations work 24 hours non-stop and send details to the TNPCB immediately. To view real time pollution, PCB has been doing many things for the public.
In this scenario, the PCB has decided to set up new 24 hours state of art air quality monitoring stations in 25 cities in TN at a cost of Rs 50 cr. These new air quality monitoring stations would be set up in Kancheepuram, Avadi, Tambaram, Kumbakonam etc plus in the missing district capitals like Dharmapuri, Nagercoil, Perambalur, Sivagangai, Theni plus in many other cities etc.
