Parking inside Egmore railway station in Chennai is not allowed, but who cares!!

If you go to the famous Egmore railway station in Chennai, then you would come across many vehicles parked inside the railway station.
Though this is considered as an offence by the Egmore railway station officials, many people continue to park their vehicles inside the premises. It was brought to light by some motorists here that there was no proper parking space for the customers when they go to buy tickets.
It was later mentioned by a resident from Kellys that he frequently went to the Egmore railway station to book tickets. He added that for booking the reservation tickets for a few minutes at the ticket counters the parking cost of Rs 20 was a little high and he was unable to pay the amount. He concluded that the railways charge the customers for tickets and there should be free parking for those who come to do bookings.
According to a senior officer from railways it was clear that the non-parking issue is still there despite erecting a board. It must be noted that the board has been kept to warn those who park their vehicles. He revealed that only a few people have been fined till now and the authorities from the railways would be creating a fence to avoid parking based issues in the future.
It was pointed out by a regular commuter that there are many issues at the Egmore railway station that need to be sorted out. He hinted that railway reserve police would be able to solve the parking issue at the Egmore railway station.
