The officials have confirmed that most people who came to the TN e-seva centres sought inome or pay certificates only.
In 2021- 22, more than 31lakhs people sought income certificates and was followed by community certificates.
In TN, there are more than 12500 e- seva centres that are run by the Tamil Nadu e Governance Agency or TNeGA. These e-seva centres provide 120 important services such as community certificate, income certificate, nativity certificate, family migration certificate etc to the public.
It was brought out by a senior officer from the IT dept that 3178156 people had sought income certificates in 2021- 22.
As many as 2259872 people obtained community certificates from various e-seva centres in TN. Nativity certificates were obtained by 1364434 people in the state.
It is important to mention here that paying the electricity bills was the least sought after certificate sought by the people.
In 2022-23, 57039 people have paid their electric bills online using the help of e- seva centres.
These days, more people from many rural and far flung places have started using these e- seva centres in TN.
It must be noted that from 65 lakhs people who approached e- seva centres in the previous year, the number has gone to 80 lakhs.
