At a cost of Rs 1941.57 crores, the chief minister of TN Mr. MK. Stalin would launch 58 health infrastructural projects across Tamil Nadu.
This would include new buildings for 17 district headquarters hospitals at a cost of Rs 711.35 crores. At a cost of Rs 5 crores, five integrated district public health labs would be set up. This was mentioned by Mr. M. Subramanian, health minister of Tamil Nadu.
It is superb to mention here that the health minister handed over digital services or Tablets to 465 MBBS and 117 BDS students who have got admission under the 7.5% internal reservation for the government school students. In Chennai next week, the work on these projects would be launched through video conferencing.
An amount of Rs 142 cr would be used to construct 5 additional district hospitals and Rs 160 cr would be spent on constructing eight 50 bed emergency care facilities across Tamil Nadu. At a cost of Rs 85 crores, two 100 bed emergency hospitals would be coming up. At 12 places, a new maternal and child health care building would be built at a cost of Rs 155.30 crores. At the Arignar Anna Memorial Cancer Hospital and research Institute in Karapettai in Kancheepuram district, an amount of Rs 100 crores would be spent in the construction of additional 3 floors.
It must be taken into note that a new tower block would come up at the famous KMCH in Chennai and an amount of Rs 125 crores would be spent for this. At a cost of Rs 60 crores, a new building would be built at the neurology dept in RGGGH in Chennai. It is known that the building in RGGGH was damaged last year due to a fire that broke out.
At an amount of Rs 10.5 cr at the Sivagangai Medical College and Hospital, a comprehensive emergency obstetric and newborn care would be established. For the Periyar Nagar Peripheral Hospital, Rs 55.07 cr would be spent for buying new equipment.
Point is that 4 announcements that were made by the health dept last year were implemented at the event. It is important to mention that the health minister handed over the appointment orders to quality managers for 10 govt medical colleges like RGGGH, KMCH, SMCH and for the govt medical colleges in Chengalpet, Madurai, Kovai, Salem, Tirunelveli, Thanjavur and Trichy etc.Information is that the project was implemented through World Bank Scheme.
