In view of the construction of a double track on the Madurai-Thiruparankundram-Tirumangalam railway line, the Southern Railway has announced the cancellation of several major trains.
The Chennai Egmore to Karaikudi Pallavan Express, Madurai Super Express, Nagercoil Weekly Train, Chennai Central to Madurai Super Express, Chennai Egmore to Madurai Super Express, Karaikudi Pallavan Train, Nagercoil Train, Nagercoil to Tambaram thrice weekly express trains, and the full train running between Bangalore and Nagercoil will be canceled from 1st to 5th March with some changes.
Additionally, the Tejas Express train service has been canceled in March, and the Chennai Egmore and Tiruchendur Express train will be partially canceled between Tiruchendur and Trichy till March 3. Commuters are advised to plan their travel accordingly.
