The Tirupati Tirumala Temple is one of the most visited religious sites in India, with lakhs of devotees coming to seek blessings of Swami darshan every day. However, some of the visitors purchase rooms and lattu prasad through middlemen, causing inconvenience to the temple authorities. In a bid to curb this practice, the Devasthanam has decided to introduce facial recognition technology.
The new technology will enable the temple authorities to keep track of the number of times visitors purchase lattu prasad or buy rooms in a week. The Devasthanam plans to introduce the technology on a trial basis from March 1, which is expected to help streamline the process and make it more transparent. This initiative is a step towards using technology to improve the visitor experience and ensure that the temple`s operations are carried out smoothly.
