Kodungaiyur Sewage Treatment Plant to Undergo Maintenance Work on March 3

The Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) has announced the temporary closure of pumping stations in several zones on March 3 due to maintenance work at the Kodungaiyur sewage treatment plant. The affected zones are 3, 6, 7, and 8, and the public has been advised to contact the concerned zonal officials in case of any sewage overflow in their locality.
During the maintenance work, the JPIC sewage pumping station in zone 6 will not be functional from 6 am to 11 pm. The CMWSSB has assured the public that vehicles will be arranged to pump out stagnated drainage water on the road using sewage suction machines in case of any sewage overflow.
Residents of Madhavaram zone (zone 3) can complain to the engineer at 8144930903 and assistant executive engineer at 8144930253. Those staying in Thiru Vi Ka Nagar zone (zone 6) can contact 8144930906, Ambattur (zone 7) can get in touch at 8144930907, and zone 8 Anna Nagar residents can reach out to the concerned officer at 8144930908.
The board has also provided contact numbers for residents to reach out to the concerned officers in case of emergencies. The CMWSSB has requested the public to cooperate during this maintenance work and to report any sewage overflow promptly to avoid inconvenience.
