If you have travelled on the Pallavaram-Thoraipakkam Radial Road stretch yesterday, then you have found it very difficult!!
The culvert construction work that is going on near Krishnapuram has reduced the 200 feet width to just 10 feet width on the Pallavaram-Thoraipakkam Radial Road. This has led to lots of issues for the motorists and others etc. The motorists spoke about how it took more than 15 minutes to cross the above mentioned stretch of 100m. There are many schools and colleges present on the side of the road. The students had a very tough time yesterday.

On a busy road like Pallavaram-Thoraipakkam Radial Road, it would be difficult to close the traffic for the culvert construction works. This was brought out by a senior official from the state Highways dept. He added that there were no other options except reducing the road width.
It was explained by another official that slowing down of vehicles here was witnessed in the morning and in the evening peak hours while rest of the time it was normal only. He added that the culvert construction works would be completed in a month before SW monsoon rains start in July and August. Truth is that the work has been pending for a long time
