Two deaths have been reported now (due to the severity of H3N2 virus) from states like Karnataka and Haryana. In this scenario, the Central govt has instructed the state governments to pay attention towards the preventive measures as the Coronavirus infection has also started to increase.
From 2020 onwards, India has faced 3 waves of the Coronavirus infection. Now, the Coronavirus infection has reduced in the country and H3N2 viral infection has increased. Across India, 90 persons have been affected with this H3N2 viral infection now. It is important to note that the new viral infection is affecting many under the age of 15 and above the age of 65.
There are many from Tamil Nadu also who have got affected with this viral infection and they are receiving treatments in many govt as well as in the private hospitals.
After the recent deaths due to H3N2 viral infection in Karnataka and Haryana, precautionary measures have been intensified in these states now. There are more number of Covid cases now in states like TN, Kerala & Maharashtra. Till now, the number of Coronavirus cases were in the single digits only in TN but yesterday as many as 36 people were affected by the Coronavirus.
The Central Health Dept has advised the state governments to pay serious attention to the new virus and Coronavirus prevention measures etc. Yesterday, in 1300 places across TN and in 200 places in Chennai, special fever camps were held. The special fever camp in Saidapet in south chennai was inaugurated by the state health minister Mr. M. Subramanian.
He spoke about how H3N2 virus infection has been spreading at a fast rate across India and how at 1300 places in TN special medical camps for prevention of fever were being organised. Others like Chennai Mayor Priya, DPH Dr. TS. Selvavinayagam and DME Shantimalar were also present.
