As a separate temple for Goddess Padmavathi is located in Thirucehndur in Tirupathi, the sister of the former popular actress Kanchana and the former Chief Secretary of the State Government of Karnataka Girija Pandey had handed over 6 acres of Land owned by their family and located in the G N Chetty Road, T Nagar, Chennai Metro City to the Thirumalai-Tirupathi Devasthanam Board (TTD) for constructing a separate temple for the Goddess Padmavathi Thayar.
As such, the Thirumalai-Tirupathi Devasthanam Board decided to construct a separate temple for Goddess Padmavathi Thayar in this location.
The Kumbhabhihekham of this newly constructed temple is scheduled to be performed at 7.30 AM on 17th March (Friday).
Kanchi Sri Sankara Vijayendra Swamigal, and Swaroopanandendra of Visakhapatnam Sarada Peetam, will preside over this Kumbhabhihekham.
The Hindu Religious Endowment Minister of the State Government of Tamil Nadu, Sekhar Babu and the Thirumalai-Tirupathi Devasthanam Board President Y. V. Subba Reddy and the Executive Office A. P. Dharma Reddy will also participate on this occasion.
