Today, on the first day of fiscal year 2024, the Indian government has revised the prices of LPG gas cylinders. However, the reduction of rates is only for commercial gas cylinder users, where the prices have been slashed by around ₹92. The rates of 14.2 kg gas cylinders for domestic customers remain unchanged from last month, where the Centre had raised the prices by ₹50.

The price of a 19 kg commercial gas cylinder in Chennai has decreased by Rs. 76. Last March, the price of a commercial gas cylinder was Rs. 2,268, but on the first day of April, the price has decreased to Rs. 2,192.50.

Notably, in March, the government had raised the prices of commercial gas cylinders by ₹350, but now on April 1st, there has been a reduction of ₹92. The prices of Indane gas cylinders (19 kg cylinder) vary across cities, with Delhi having the lowest rate of ₹2028 and Chennai having the highest rate of ₹2192.50.
