There is a situation when the easterly and westerly winds meet each other in the upper layers of the atmosphere over South India. Due to this, there are prospects for mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in one or two places from today (Saturday, 1st April) for four days (1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th April).
Regarding the Chennai Metro City and its suburbs, the sky will remain somewhat cloudy in the next 48 hours. There are prospects for mild rain in one or two places.

Senthamaraikkanna, has informed that the rainfall recorded in centimeters in the last 24 hours as of 8.30 AM yesterday (Friday, 31st March) was maximum in Kanyakumari District Thirparappu – 5, Coimbatore District Cinnova, Pollachi, Vaalparai, Nilgiri District Parwood, Dharmapuri District Palakkodu – 4.
