He threw light on how the TN govt has taken many measures to improve the handloom sectors and the weavers .

To encourage the weavers, the staff of the government have been asked to wear khadi clothes for 2 days in a week. By designing good quality handloom products, the handloom sector has shown that it was possible to reach greater heights in sales.

Mr. R. Gandhi, minister for handlooms and textiles explained that the organisation had made a profit of Rs 9 crores. It must be noted that two years back  there was a loss of Rs 6 crore to Rs 7 crore. He added that a guarantee card is being provided for the buyers now.
