Scorching summer - Orange Alert for 3 States - prospects for rain in Tamil Nadu, Pudhuchery and Karaikkal!

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert warning of scorching heat in the three states of West Bengal, Bihar, and Andhra Pradesh for the next five days.

The notification released by the IMD states that the intensity of heat will also increase in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and other northwestern states.

The states of West Bengal, Bihar, and Andhra Pradesh have been given an `Orange Alert` due to the scorching heat.

A warning has been issued for a heat wave in the next four to five days.

In response, holidays have been declared for schools in the state of West Bengal until April 24th.

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has reported that a dry climate will prevail for the next three days in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikkal, starting from Monday, April 17th. There are prospects for mild rain in one or two places on April 20th and 21st in these regions.

Meanwhile, temperatures crossing 100 degrees Fahrenheit have been recorded in 14 districts, including Chennai. As a result, the public is advised not to venture outdoors.
