Now, the residents of Mahabalipuram have got a reason to feel happy!!
For many years, the residents belonging to Mahabalipuram have been requesting a bus terminus. The TN govt has allotted Rs 50 crores to construct a new bus terminus at Mahabalipuram.
It is well known to us that Mahabalipuram has got many tourist attractions plus it also hosted the G-20 Summit recently but the lack of proper bus terminus here made many residents feel unhappy.
Behind the Sri Sthalasayana Perumal Temple in a narrow lane here, the present bus terminus is located and there is no sufficient space to park buses. The travellers were also finding it difficult to board the buses here. This has made many residents here to repeatedly request the TN government for a new bus terminus with better parking and travelling facilities etc.
According to the panchayat president Mr. Kothandapani, Mahabalipuram has thousands of people visiting the monuments from all over the world every day. He added that the tourism here would become better if a new bus terminus comes up here.
