Chennai Metro and L&T sign contract for installation of tracks worth Rs 299 crore under Phase-2

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has awarded Larsen & Toubro Limited a contract worth Rs 299 crore to install ballastless tracks for Corridor-3 of Chennai Metro Phase-2. This contract, which includes the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of standard gauge ballastless track, covers both the underground and elevated sections of Corridor-3. It is the final track tender to be awarded for Phase-2, and it was funded by JICA. T Archunan, director (projects) at CMRL, and Sunil Khattar, vice-president and head of metro business unit at L&T, signed the contract agreement.
