Liquor sales to be banned on 1st May Labourers Day!

The Chennai District Collector has informed that TASMAC and other shops selling alcoholic beverages (liquor) MUST remain closed.
In a notification released by the Chennai District Collector regarding this matter, it is mentioned:
"On May 1st, observed as Labourers` Day, as per the Retail Liquor Shop Sales Act in Tamil Nadu, all liquor retail sales shops, including TASMAC (FL1), associated bars, bars with FL2 License, bars in Chennai Clubs with FL2 License, and others holding FL3 (A0) and FL3 (AA) licenses, MUST remain closed. Alcoholic beverages (liquor) must not be sold."
Chennai Collector Amirthajothi has informed that any violation of this ban will result in stringent legal action!
