The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects for heavy rains on the 30th of April and the 1st of May in Tamil Nadu, including the districts of Nilgiri, Coimbatore, Erode, Theni, and Dindigul.
In a notification released regarding this by the Director of the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre, Pa. Senthamaraikkannan, it is mentioned:
"The phenomenon of the easterly and westerly winds meeting each other in the upper layers of the atmosphere over South India has been prevailing. As such, there are prospects for mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder today (28th April, Friday) in one or two places, and prospects for mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder tomorrow (29th April, Saturday).
As for the 30th of April and the 1st of May, there are prospects for widespread mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
There are prospects for heavy rain on the 30th of April in the districts of Nilgiri, Coimbatore, Erode, Theni, Dindigul, Thenkasi, Thirunelveli, and Kanyakumari.
There are prospects for heavy rain on the 1st of May in one or two places in the districts of Nilgiri, Coimbatore, Erode, Theni, Dindigul, Namakkal, Karur, Thirupathur, and Salem.
Regarding the Chennai Metro City and its suburbs, the sky will remain somewhat cloudy in the next 48 hours. There are prospects for mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in one or two places.
The maximum temperature will be 99 degrees Fahrenheit, and the minimum temperature will be 82 degrees Fahrenheit."
