Higher Education Guidance Centres will operate in all Government Higher Secondary Schools from the 5th of May. The Department of Education of the State Government of Tamil Nadu has emphasized that this news must be shared by all school headmasters during the Grama Sabha Meetings.
In a circular sent on behalf of the Director of the Unified School Education Plan, Ks. Inam Bhagawath, to all the District Primary Education Officers, it is mentioned:
"The respective school headmaster MUST share the decisions taken on teaching, learning, the growth of the school, infrastructure, and safety of the students, made during the SMC (School Management Council).
In the ward where the concerned school is located, all the students who did not pass the +1 and +2 Public Examinations MUST be called and guided to participate in the Supplementary Examinations scheduled to be conducted in June.
Under the `Naan Mudhalvan` scheme, a `Higher Education Guidance Centre` will be set up in each of the higher secondary schools, and the students of the +2 (12th Standard) must be given guidance on the 5th of May. This information MUST be shared with the Grama Sabha Members.
During the Grama Sabha meetings, the decisions made by the SMC (School Management Council) must be shared with the Grama Sabha Members and the public, who should understand the needs of the students and contribute on their front.
In the Higher Education Guidance centres to be set up in the Tamil Nadu State Government Higher Secondary Schools, the teachers will explain to the students the various courses available for pursuing higher studies and the job opportunities associated with these courses."
