The Chennai residents have brought out that there has been a delay of 10 to 20 days from the booking of the cylinders to the delivery. As a result, they are unhappy now.
It is noteworthy that public sector companies like IOC, Bharat Petroleum and HP etc distribute the cooking gas cylinders for both households and for commercial purposes. Through the integrated voice service division, 24 hour registration could be done when the cylinder runs out.
The new cylinders would be delivered usually in one or two days after booking. The residents of Chennai and its suburbs are now complaining that the delivery of the gas cylinders have been delayed for more days. It must be noted that now a new cylinder is being delivered in 10 to 20 days to the public. The distribution agencies are also not responding properly now regarding this issue of late delivery.
According to some officials of the oil company, now used and rusty cylinders are being replaced and supply of new cylinders is low. They added that it was the reason for the delay in the cylinder delivery and assured that the issue would be solved soon.
