The Minister of the State Government of Tamil Nadu, Sekhar Babu, shared during a session with the press reports:
"While presenting the requirements for various subsidies for the financial year 2023-24 by different departments in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, 50 announcements were made. Subsequently, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has ordered that the implementation of the above 50 locations, including Chennai Metro City, for improvement MUST be expedited.
As a result, a direct inspection visit was undertaken to these 50 locations, and out of the 26 Assembly Constituencies in Chennai Metro City, we have analyzed 22 locations out of the total 34 locations in Chennai Metro City.
To expedite the implementation of the 50 locations for improvement, a decision has been taken to set up a special park with colorful greenery for Rs. 10 Crores covering an area of 2 acres.
Similarly, an exclusive ground for playing cricket covering an area of 5 acres in the Chennai Theagaraya Nagar Somasundaram Park, a tennis court, and a park with a gymnasium will be set up for Rs. 10 Crores.
Subsequently, an indoor stadium will be set up at the Corporation Ground near Chennai Metro City Mylapore Goddess Mudakkakanni Amman Temple for Rs. 2.50 Crores, along with a mini playground. All related preparatory activities are being expedited."
