The year was 2000 and it was the first time Mr J. Radhakrishnan took charge as the GCC Commissioner. At that time, Mr. MK. Stalin was the Chennai Mayor. They both coordinated together, addressed many issues of the public and created superb Chennai.
Now the year is 2023 and Mr. J. Radhakrishnan has again grabbed many eyeballs when he took charge again as the new GCC Commissioner at the Ripon Buildings on Monday. He mentioned that the grievances of the public would be addressed at the earliest and regular field inspections would be conducted.
He then explained how several initiatives have been carried out to develop Chennai in SWM, SWD, road milling works, education, revenue & finance departments under the Singara Chennai 2.0. He and his team members would concentrate on the petitions that have been issued to the Chennai Mayor and to the chief minister of TN.
It is learnt that the new GCC Commissioner would hold meetings with the zonal officers in Chennai and would discuss developing the infrastructure in Chennai. It must be noted that there would be field inspections carried out by the concerned dept officers. The Chennai Corporation would coordinate with several departments like water board, slum clearance board, CMDA and also with many ministers etc.
