The temperatures have increased suddenly in Chennai and across Tamil Nadu. The public have been finding it very difficult now due to this scorching heat. In this situation, the minister for revenue and disaster management Mr. KKSSR. Ramachandran has asked the pregnant mothers, childrens and senior persons not to come out of their houses from 12 noon till 3pm in the evening.
The minister issued a release with a series of instructions on the things to do and things not to do by the public in the summer when Chennai, Vellore etc have recorded 2 to 3 degrees rise in the temperatures.
According to the minister, pregnant women, children and senior citizens have been asked not to venture out of their homes from 12 noon to 3pm. The public have been asked to go out by wearing slippers without fail. He added that the public must drink sufficient water plus ORS, lemon juice, tender coconuts etc to keep themselves hydrated.
The release also mentioned that the people must reside in well ventilated places plus wear cotton clothes etc. The public have been advised to carry umbrellas with them while going out. On Monday, IMD had issued a warning that some places in TN would experience a rise in the temperatures.
