Temporary Road Closure and Traffic Diversions in Chennai for Inauguration of Kalaignar Centenary Super Speciality Hospital

In preparation for the inauguration of the Kalaignar Centenary Super Speciality Hospital in Guindy, Chennai, by Chief Minister M K Stalin, the Chennai Police have announced temporary road closures and traffic diversions. These measures will be in effect from Tuesday, June 13, until Thursday, June 16, due to ongoing public works by the Public Works Department (PWD) on the Alandur Main road between Saidapet five light junction and National Skill Training Institute.
The closure of Alandur Main Road near the hospital for four days necessitates traffic diversions in the Guindy-Alandur road. Here are the details of the diversions:
- Vehicles from Guindy Anna Salai intending to travel towards Saidapet via Alandur Main Road in Thiru Vi Ka Industrial Estate will need to take a right turn at Estate Road Bus stand and reach Saidapet via Anna Salai Guindy Bridge.
- Vehicles coming from Anna Salai and heading towards the Thiru Vi Ka Industrial Estate area will have to take a left turn at Estate Road Bus stand to Water Tank Road roundtana and proceed to their destinations.
- Vehicles coming from Saidapet Bazaar and other roads, aiming to travel towards Guindy Industrial Estate via Alandur Bridge and Alandur Main Road, will need to take a right turn at Saidapet Five Light Junction to Mosque Street - Manthoppu School Road Junction - Kodambakkam Road - Govindan Road - Ashok Nagar 11th Avenue - 100 Feet Road - Kasi Bridge - CIPET Junction, then take a left turn to Water Tank Road to reach their destinations in the Thiru Vi Ka Industrial Estate area.
- Vehicles coming from Saidapet Bazaar Road, intending to travel towards Guindy via Alandur Road, will have to take a right turn at Saidapet Five Light Junction to Mosque Street, reach Manthoppu School Junction, take a right turn to East Jones Road - Pavalavannar Subway - and reach Anna Salai - Guindy.
Additionally, MTC Bus 70F heading for Pattabiram from Estate Bus Stand and Mini Buses heading for Defence Colony via Ashok Nagar will have to take a left turn at Estate Bus stand, proceed to Water Tank roundtana, and take a left turn to reach CIPET Junction and 100 Feet Road for their respective destinations.
