With the commencement of schools and colleges in Tamil Nadu, the demand for caste certificates during the admission process has surged. In light of this, Ms. Veyil Selvi from Sivagiri, Tenkasi district, recently submitted an application for a caste certificate to the Kadayanallur tahsildar office.
However, despite the stipulated timeframe, no response was received from the concerned authority. Consequently, Ms. Veyil Selvi took the matter to the Madurai High Court, seeking resolution. After deliberation, the court ordered the relevant authorities to take appropriate action on online caste certificate applications within 30 days. In addition, a fine of Rs. 1000 was imposed.
This ruling signifies a significant step towards streamlining the process of obtaining caste certificates, ensuring timely responses and prompt action. Applicants can now anticipate a more efficient and time-bound procedure for obtaining their caste certificates, contributing to a smoother admission process for students across the state.
