Know about this new move from the TN School Education dept to stop students from bunking classes!!

School students, be careful next time when you think about bunking classes to go to a movie with your friend!!
Many students studying in various govt schools in Chennai and across TN have been bunking their classes. This would not be possible hereafter as the parents would get SMS on their mobile phones regarding the truant behaviour of their kids.
It is now mentioned that this SMS move has come at a time when many complaints have been received regarding many students studying in the govt as well as in the govt aided schools and in higher secondary schools etc in the state bunking their classes without even informing their parents.
There are now more than 44lakhs students studying in as many as 37400 govt schools in middle, primary, high and higher secondary schools in TN. About 22lakhs students study in as many as in about 8300 govt schools across TN.
The absence of students or bunking classes in these schools have become an issue for many teachers as they do not have a proper way to address this siue. This as mentioned by an official from the school education dept.
The officer spoke about how from this year onwards the school education dept would bring all the govt schools and govt aided schools under the new management system. The absentee details would be shared with the parents. By this, a cordial relationship is expected between the parents and schools. There would also be sharing of the assessments and the performances of the students with parents too in the future.
