The presence of faulty cables has been leading to disruptions in the supply of power. As a result, the residents of Chennai have been facing issues.
Now, the news is that to deal with the power outages due to faulty cables 50% of the cables would be replaced. This work would be completed before the next summer season. This was mentioned by some officials belonging to the electricity board.
It is learnt that many cables that have been submerged underground were past their duration of operation. There were some cables that had been damaged badly. This was according to some officials.
