Special Train Announced for Golden Car Festival Rush

Southern Railway has announced the operation of a special train, Train no. 06005, between Chennai Egmore and Tuticorin, to accommodate the surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming `Golden Car Festival.` This festival attracts a large number of travelers every year, and the special train has been introduced to cater to the extra rush of passengers.
The Chennai Egmore – Tuticorin Special Fare Special (Train no. 06005) is scheduled to depart from Chennai Egmore at 16.15 hrs on August 3rd, a Thursday. The train will arrive at Tuticorin at 03.10 hrs on the following day, providing a seamless travel experience for the festival-goers. This train will be a one-time service.
For the return journey, the Tuticorin – Chennai Egmore Special Fare Special (Train no. 06006) will depart from Tuticorin at 14.45 hrs on August 4th, a Friday, and reach Chennai Egmore at 02.45 hrs on the next day, providing a convenient option for the travelers to return home after the festivities. This train will also be a one-time service.
The special trains will consist of a well-balanced composition of coaches to cater to different classes of passengers. The accommodation options available for reservation include an AC First Class, two AC Tier-II coaches, six AC Tier-III coaches, two AC Tier-III Economy coaches, six Sleeper Class coaches, and two General Second Class coaches.
