The executive director or ED of Indian Oil Corporation or IOC Mr. Ashokan had revealed about the IOC`s new plan of distributing petrol mixed with 20% ethanol.
Regarding the new initiatives of IOC, Mr.Ashokan, Regional Head and ED of IOC mentioned a few things yesterday at the Hotel in Teynampet in Chennai. He spoke about how for IOC The TN region was very important.
Mammoth investment in TN:
It is learnt that IOC would be investing a mammoth amount of Rs 54000 Crores in TN in several projects. He added that in TN and in Puducherry 10% blending of petrol and ethanol has been achieved and by 2025 the IOC would be trying for 20% blending of petrol and ethanol .
Till now, as many as 26 retail outlets in TN have been distributing petrol blended with 20% ethanol and by 2026 it would be expanded to 66 retail outlets. It must be noted that IOC has installed 400 EV charging stations across TN. In the future in TN, there would be 300 more such EV charging stations.
The ED of IOC later brought to light that IOC would be playing a huge role in creating a clean environment. By 2046, IOC would be aiming for zero emissions.
To take India towards green energy, IOC would be implementing various initiatives like renewables, green hydrogen, carbon offsetting through environmental restoration. It is known that IOC has been showing great interest in the construction of LNG distribution stations across Tamil Nadu. In the future, as many as 6 LNG distribution companies would be established.
