On 12th of August anti-ragging day is observed is aknown fact.
To create an awareness among students about ragging, UGC or University grants Commission has instructed the higher educational institutions to observe anti-ragging week from 12th of August 2023. Secretary of UGC, Mr. Manish R. Joshi has sent a circular to all university vice-chancellors.
It is noteworthy that UGS has been taking various measures to prevent ragging in the higher educational institutions. Now, new rules have been issued. All the higher education institutions must implement these new rules without fail and improve the monitoring process. The colleges must ensure ragging free conditions.
It is now mentioned that from 12th to 18th of August 2023 anti-ragging week would be observed to create awareness among students in the higher education institutions.
Throughout this week, training sessions on anti-ragging would be conducted plus there would be competitions like essay writing, billboard making, logo designing etc. The students as well as college staff must take part in the competitions. Seminars and workshops could be organised also. It must be noted that short films and documentaries could also be screened. Point is that the packages of these events must be registered on the website www.antiragging.in.
