The State Minister for the Religious Endowments Department of the Tamil Nadu State Government, Sekhar Babu, has informed that candidates interested in joining the training courses conducted on temple-related services conducted by the temples can apply for the same.
In a notification released by the State Minister, it is mentioned:
"Archakas/Bhattacharyas training schools have been functioning in the temples located in Madurai, Palani, Thirucehndur, Thiruvannamalai, Srirangam, Thiruvallikkeni, and Sriperumpudhur.
Odhuvar training courses are being conducted in the temples located in Madurai, Thiruvannamalai, and Samayapuram temples.
"Prabandha Reciters` Training Course" is functioning in Srivilliputhur. Full-time and part-time courses on .learning Thavil and Nadaswaram are conducted in Thiruthani.
`Veda Aagama Schools` are functioning at the temples located in Palani, Mylapore, and Thirucehndur.
The students belonging to the Hindu Religion studying in these schools are given free lodging, boarding, and uniforms and monthly financial assistance of Rs. 3000/-!
The age limit to join the Archakas course is 13-24, For the Odhuvar course, the age limit is 13-20. For the Thavil & Nadaswaram course, the age limit is 13-16. The candidates MUST have passed the 8th Standard.
For joining the Veda Agama Training School, the age limit is 12-16. For joining the Prabandha Reciters` course, the age limit is 9-16. Candidates MUST have passed the 5th Standard.
