In response to the anticipated surge in travel demand this weekend, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Department has announced the operation of 600 additional special buses alongside the regular government bus services. Of these, 300 buses will depart from Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT), Koyambedu, and other transit hubs within the city. The remaining buses will be deployed from Madurai, Coimbatore, Salem, Trichy, and Bengaluru to Chennai and other nearby cities on both Saturday and Sunday.
To ensure smooth operations and handle the potential increase in passenger volume, special teams have been deployed at all bus terminuses. These teams will closely monitor the situation and arrange for additional buses if the crowds exceed expectations. The State Transport Department aims to provide a comfortable and convenient travel experience for commuters during this busy weekend period.
