The administration of the Vandalur Arignar Anna Zoological Park has decided to increase the price of the entrance ticket to visit the park from the present Rs. 100/- to Rs. 200/-!
Approximately 2500 to 3000 citizens of all age groups visit the Vandalur Zoological Park daily.
The administration of the Vandalur Zoological Park has informed us that around 10,000 citizens visit the park during weekends.
The Vandalur Zoological Park covers an area of 602 hectares. The Zoological Park administration has informed us that approximately Rs. 6 Crores per year is spent on food for over 2400 species of animals, birds, and reptiles in the park. Additionally, a total wage of Rs. 7 Crores and above is paid as salaries for the staff. As such, administration expenses have been increasing daily.
Keeping the above in mind, the administration of Vandalur Zoological Park has decided to increase the charges for the entrance ticket. As per this decision, the present entrance charge of Rs. 100/- is being revised to Rs. 200/-! This will be announced soon.
Furthermore, for families visiting and taking a trip on the battery cars, Rs. 1500/- will be collected per family. The administration further explained that with this increase, it would be possible to better maintain the zoological park!
