The fourth environment and climate sustainability working committee meeting of the G20 conference will take place in Chennai from today onwards.
It must be recalled that India has assumed the presidency of G20 organisation for the year 2022-2023 that has got 20 countries including China, USA and India as members. In this scenario, meetings have been held on the behalf of various departments in 50 cities across the country. Point is that a working committee meeting on education, finance and women`s development was held in Chennai. Yesterday, the final meeting of the Disaster Risk Mitigation Task Force began in Chennai.
From today onwards, the fourth environment and climate sustainability working committee meeting of the G20 conference will begin in Chennai.
It was mentioned by the additional secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Supriya Sahu that the fourth environment and climate sustainability working committee meeting would begin from today in Chennai.
It is learnt that on 26th and on 27th July the above said G20 conference would take place in Chennai and there would be discussions regarding land degradation, ecological restoration plus others like biodiversity conservation, water resources conservation, sustainable marine economy etc.
On 28th July, a meeting would take place where 35 environment ministers from G20 countries would be making their presence felt.
