Omron Healthcare debut in healthcare manufacturing space in India, construction of a new manufacturing plant near Chennai

Just 2 months back Omron Healthcare, a Japanese medical devices giant had signed an investment MoU with TN. On Tuesday, 26th July 2023, this Japan based company had started constructing its manufacturing plant at the industrial clusters Origins by Mahindra near Chennai.
Yesterday, a ceremony took place at the site and it was organised by Omron and SMCC Construction India. It is known that SMCC Construction is a subsidiary of Sumitomo Mitsui Corporation Company, a Japanese contractor.
It is now said that this beginning of the construction works by Omron Healthcare is the debut of this Japan based company in the healthcare manufacturing space in India. Omron Healthcare would be diversifying its global network manufacturing facilities with locations in Japan, Italy, China, Vietnam and Brazil etc.
When will the operations begin?
The Omron Healthcare is expecting to start its manufacturing near Chennai from March 2025.The factory would be constructed on a land of 6 acres and it would start assembling BP monitors for the domestic market. It is well known that MoU was signed in May 2023 in the presence of CM of TN Mr. MK. Stalin in Japan.
To ensure precise production processes, the new manufacturing facility would have advanced machinery and cutting edge technologies etc.
