The tomato price shoots up again! Sold at Rs. 140/- per kg at Koyambedu!

Tomato prices have shot up again, and today (Thursday, 27th July), they are being sold at Rs. 140/- per kg (up by Rs. 30/-!).
With the increasing trend of vegetable prices all over the country in the recent period, the price of tomatoes has been gradually increasing every passing day.
Last week, the price of tomatoes had come down, and they were sold at Rs. 85/- per kg, with a reduction of Rs. 15/- per kg. However, the tomato price shot up again on Monday (24th July) and was sold at Rs. 200/- per kg.
Subsequently, on Wednesday (yesterday, 26th July), tomatoes were sold at Rs. 110/- per kg.
THE PUBLIC REMAINS SHOCKED OVER THE RISING PRICES OF TOMATOES!
In this situation, on Thursday (today, 27th July), tomato prices have increased by Rs. 30/- per kg again, and tomatoes are being sold at Rs. 140/- per kg in the Koyambedu wholesale vegetable market.
The daily requirement of tomatoes in Chennai Metro City is 1200 tons. However, only 40 tons of tomatoes arrive. As such, this has led to a substantial increase in the price of tomatoes!
